Alligator Leather Watch Strap for Seculus Watch with Original Insert

This bespoke watch strap was made for a Seculus watch in black alligator leather. As with several Seculus models of this construction, the original strap was important not only as a size reference, but also as a donor for the internal insert at the case end of the strap.

This original internal insert helps the strap sit correctly between the lugs and preserve the intended transition from the watch case to the leather. For this type of Seculus case, the strap cannot be treated as a simple flat leather band cut to the correct width. The case-end construction is part of the fit.

The new strap was made from black alligator leather, selected for a restrained and formal appearance. The natural scale pattern adds depth without making the watch look overly decorative, while the black colour keeps the result visually close to the original character of the watch.

The original Seculus deployment clasp was preserved and fitted to the new strap. This keeps the familiar fastening system and helps maintain the watch’s original wearing logic.

For the lower layer, I used hypoallergenic lining leather for daily comfort. Inside the construction, Jaeger reinforcements from Germany were used to help the strap resist stretching and deformation over time.

The result is a new black alligator strap that preserves the specific case-end fit of the original Seculus strap while replacing the worn leather structure with a bespoke construction.
