The client brought in his old leather belt, which had served well for a long time but had lost its appearance over time. The former rich colour and style of the belt now looks outdated and irrelevant. However, the massive metal buckle of a non-standard size (45 mm), made of high quality steel, still retained its appearance and attracted attention with its unusual shape.
The client wished to make a new muscle belt in the classic English style using this original buckle.
After discussing all the details I set to work. This is how this beautiful English bridle leather trouser belt with wide keepers came to be. The belt is vegetable tanned leather from J&E Sedgwick & Co. Stitched with linen waxed thread in the old time-honoured technique of hand sewing.
