Bespoke Crocodile Belt Strap Made for a Client’s Buckle

A client contacted me with a request to create a new belt strap for a buckle from a well known luxury brand. This project was a belt strap for client buckle, built to match the hardware in both fit and presence. The goal was to make a strap that matches the level and status of the piece, while also being precisely fitted to the client’s measurements.

The octagonal geometry of the buckle immediately set the direction. I decided to echo that shape in the strap design so the final object reads as a single, coherent composition. The strap proportions and key parameters were dictated by the dimensions of the supplied buckle and the way its mechanism works.

For the outer leather, we chose a crocodile skin in an extremely dark blue tone, almost black, with a pronounced finish. It gives a calm, clean play of light and works naturally next to metal, without competing for attention.

In the photos, the buckle is intentionally blurred. The hardware belongs to the client, and in this piece I am not showcasing a brand. I am showcasing the belt as an object and the quality of its execution. I do not sell branded buckles, and I never reproduce or copy proprietary hardware. My job is to create a strap that is worthy of the buckle and looks complete.

Inside the belt I used Jaeger reinforcements to keep the structure stable in use. The belt is hand assembled and stitched with a traditional saddle stitch using MeiSi Super Fine linen thread.

If you need a belt strap for client buckle, I describe the process, sizing, and options in my pillar article:  Interchangeable belt straps. To request a quote, send photos of your buckle (front and back) and your measurements. I will confirm feasibility and propose the optimal construction.
