Bespoke Alligator Strap for Omega De Ville

The owner of this Omega De Ville came to the studio after the original strap had lost its appearance and needed replacement.

Finding a suitable ready-made alternative proved difficult. Standard straps available in stores did not correspond precisely to the watch’s dimensions and proportions, and they also failed to work properly with the original Omega clasp.

The task was therefore not simply to make another leather strap, but to reproduce the required geometry around the watch and its original hardware while preserving the restrained character of the De Ville.

A new strap was made individually in alligator leather, with its dimensions and proportions developed around the watch, the clasp and the owner’s wrist.

The result restored the watch to everyday use without forcing the owner to compromise with an approximately fitting replacement.
