Strap for Luminox Land XL.1921 custom strap

This project began with a frustrating user experience — the original strap on the Luminox Land XL.1921 was too stiff, bulky, and overly long. Its double-prong buckle design caused excessive stress around the adjustment holes, which eventually led to the strap breaking apart. The client wanted to avoid repeating these design flaws and also shift the overall character of the watch — moving away from its overt military style toward a more restrained, sporty look.

After a detailed discussion, we decided to keep the original buckle — its texture and color are a perfect match for the case — but to modify it with a single prong instead of two. This gave us the opportunity to rethink the entire structure of the strap. It now features extra thickness only near the lugs, with a gradual taper toward the buckle. An ergonomic curve was also introduced to improve comfort and wearability.

The strap measures 115/75 mm in length and 26/24 mm in width — perfectly balanced to support the large case without compromising flexibility. It is crafted from smooth, matte black leather, paired with red stitching and a red leather keeper — visual accents that complement the red element of the Luminox logo on the dial.

The inner lining is made from water-resistant material for enhanced performance during everyday wear. Additionally, Jaeger reinforcements were used inside the strap structure to improve stability and longevity.
