A client approached me with a request to make a minimalist leather folder case for a MacBook Pro. The idea was to create a slim protective case that would keep the laptop easy to carry without adding unnecessary bulk, hardware, or decorative details.
The case was made from black calf leather. This material suits a minimalist object well: it keeps the appearance clean and restrained, while giving the case enough visual depth and tactile quality. In a simple leather piece like this, the material, edges, stitching, and proportions become the main visible elements.
Particular attention was given to protection. The structure was reinforced with soft foam padding to help absorb everyday shocks and keep the laptop safer during regular use and transport. This was important because the case had to remain slim, but still provide more protection than a simple unpadded leather sleeve.
The interior was lined with Alcantara. For a laptop case, the lining is not only about appearance. It gives the inside a softer surface and helps protect the MacBook Pro from scratches and wear during use.
The format of the case is deliberately simple: a flat folder-style sleeve with a zipper closure. It is not a large bag and does not try to become one. Its purpose is more focused — to protect the laptop and make it easier to carry as a separate object.
Dimensions: 35 × 27 × 2 cm.
The result is a minimalist leather MacBook Pro case with a clean, restrained appearance. It was made around a practical need: to carry and protect the laptop in a slim handmade leather object, without visual noise or unnecessary details.
