Strap for Seculus Watch with Anatomically Shaped Alligator Leather

This bespoke watch strap was made for a women’s Seculus watch with a special attachment construction. The client’s original strap was used as a donor for the internal insert at the case end of the strap, allowing the new strap to preserve the correct fit between the lugs and the intended transition from the watch case to the leather.

This type of Seculus construction needs particular attention. The rigid insert helps the strap sit correctly on the watch, but the transition between the insert and the leather part is also a common stress point in original straps. When making a new strap for this model, the old strap is often important not only as a size reference, but also as a source for the original internal insert.

The original strap was too long for comfortable wear on a smaller wrist. For this reason, the new strap was made shorter and shaped anatomically, so it could follow the wrist more naturally without excess length or unnecessary stiffness.

The upper leather was cut from black alligator. Compared with buffalo leather, alligator gives the strap a more formal and refined character, while the anatomical shape keeps it practical for daily use. The original Seculus deployment clasp was preserved and fitted to the new strap.

For the lower layer, I used hypoallergenic moisture-resistant lining leather for daily comfort. Jaeger reinforcements from Germany were integrated across the construction to help the strap resist stretching and deformation over time.

The result is a shorter, more comfortable Seculus strap that preserves the specific case-end fit of the original construction while replacing the worn leather part with a refined black alligator strap.
